2020 Flying Pig Marathon Weekend Update
Flying Pig Marathon Winners take on Olympic Trials!
We are so proud of our Flying Pig champions Anne Flower, Amy Robillard, and Caitlin Keen who are “going for the Gold” at this weekend’s Marathon Trials in Atlanta!
Caitlin won the Flying Pig Marathon in 2018, Anne Flower won the 2016 and 2019 Flying Pig Marathons, and Amy Robillary won the 2011, 2012 and 2016 Flying Pig half marathon and 2014 and 2015 Flying Pig Marathon.
“We could not be more proud of Caitlin, Amy and Anne as they represent our city and the Flying Pig at the Olympic Trials,” said Iris Simpson Bush, executive director of the Flying Pig Marathon. “We’re excited to watch their accomplishments on the national stage and wish them all the best on Saturday.”
Caitlin Keen qualified for the Olympic trials with a 2:42:31 at the 2018 California International Marathon. Anne Flower qualified with a 2:42:22 at the 2018 Columbus Marathon, while Amy Robillard qualified with a 2:43:51 at last year’s Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. The marathon trials will be held on an eight-mile loop that begins and ends in Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta.
The top three men and three women will be chosen for the U.S. Olympic Marathon team out of a record field that will compete on Saturday. According to USA Track & Field lists, 511 women and 260 men have
qualified, a total of 771.

We’ve got some exciting news to share with you!
The Board of Directors of Cincinnati Marathon Inc., the parent company of the Flying Pig Marathon, Queen Bee, TQL Beer Series and the FCC3, is proud to announce that the non-profit organization producing all of the above events will now be known as Pig Works! The organization that started with a little hometown marathon over twenty years ago has now established a diverse family of participatory events and a growing philanthropic footprint.
Pig Works is a race experience company with three goals:
- Create fun participatory sporting events for individuals and groups of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds
- Contribute to charitable causes that support the growth and development of our community here in Cincinnati and beyond
- Promote a lifestyle that weaves movement and health into the fiber of our community and extends beyond the bounds of our event days
The new organization name will enable growth in participation and charitable giving while allowing each existing and beloved event brand to retain its name, personality and mission.
In 2019, our suite of races attracted 59,693 registrants across five weekends throughout the year resulting in 475,311.7 miles completed and more than $1,000,000 raised for charity. These registrants represented all 50 states and 29 foreign countries. In December, Race Raves ranked the Flying Pig Marathon the #1 marathon in the United States.

Sept. 19, 2020 – Hudepohl 14K & 7K Brewery Run (final leg of the TQL Beer Series)
Oct. 9-10, 2020 – Queen Bee Half Marathon, empowered Kroger & P&G & Medpace 4 Miler

Flying Pig Marathon ranked #1 by runners around the country!
We’re so excited to announce that the Flying Pig Marathon was recently voted the #1 marathon in the country by RaceRaves!
The Flying Pig also took home awards for Top 10 Best Themed Race in the U.S., Top 10 Best Weekend Experience in the U.S., and the Green Lion Award, an award given to races committed to expanding and maintaining their sustainability efforts.
“We are honored to be in such prestigious company with Disney, Marine Corps and Boston marathons,” said Iris Simpson Bush, Flying Pig executive director. “We work very hard to make sure our participants enjoy the weekend, from the P&G Health and Fitness Expo to the Finish Swine.
