Congratulations to our PIGGYs Award Winners

We reflected on our past, honored some special PIGGYs and community partners and celebrated our future. Congrats to all the winners!

Bob Coughlin, CEO of Paycor & Founder of the Flying Pig Marathon, for his continued service to the Flying Pig through the Coughlin Family Foundation. Bob was among a group of Cincinnati runners more than 20 years ago who had the vision of putting together a world-class marathon for the area. He continues to serve runners with the newly-formed Coughlin Cup, presented to the male and female winners of the full marathon beginning this year.

Iris Simpson Bush, Executive Director of the Flying Pig Marathon, for 20 years with the Flying Pig. Iris has served the Flying Pig since before the first running in 1999, first as a board member, and then as executive director. She has led the Flying Pig into the top 20 marathon weekends in the country and this year was honored by Running USA by being named to its Hall of Champions for her work supporting the running community.

Dave McGillivray, Boston Marathon Race Director, for his continued leadership in the national, and international running community. From his extraordinary run across the U.S. to benefit the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 1978 to serving as technical director, then race director of the BAA Boston Marathon since the 1980s, Dave McGillivray has helped organize more than 900 mass participatory events since founding DMSE, Inc., in  1981, while raising millions for worthy causes.

Local First Responders represented by Sgt. Greg Lewton, Cincinnati Police Department, and Dr. Jon Divine, UC Health, thanking medical and police departments throughout the area for their service to the marathon. Sgt. Lewton, who has been leading security preparations for more than 15 years as part of the special events unit, represents the hundreds of police, fire and first responders who work throughout the weekend to keep the event safe. Dr. Divine served as the Medical Director for the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon from 2005-2009 and became the Medical Director again starting in 2013.

P&G was one of the original sponsors for the Flying Pig in 1999 and has been a valued partner throughout the 20 years of the Flying Pig. P&G is the overall sponsor of Flying Pig weekend, is the sponsor for the P&G Health & Fitness Expo the Friday and Saturday of Flying Pig weekend and was the presenting sponsor of “The PIGGYs.”

WLWT-News 5 as a media partner of the Flying Pig for more than a decade. WLWT has shown the Flying Pig Marathon live for 15 years, and this year included the live broadcast of “The PIGGYs presented by P&G” as part of its marathon weekend coverage.
