20/12 Training Run

Congrats to all participants of the 20/12 event! We can’t wait to see you at the Finish Swine!

Good luck to everyone with your last long run before the Pig! If you’re participating in the 20/12 in Cincinnati, we’ll be there to support you on Saturday, April 14th! We will be stationed on Lake Drive at the Eden Park Overlook from 7:15am-10:30am. We’re partnering with the Greater Cincinnati Water Works to provide water and Gatorade. We’ll also be featuring some of the course experiences you’ll get marathon weekend. All items will be available while supplies last.

We’ll also have Port-O-Lets for your convenience! You’ll find them near St. Ursula Academy and Eli’s on Eastern Avenue.

2018 Course Updates

Due to other events being hosted in the city Flying Pig weekend, we are changing our full and half marathon courses – particularly the start and finish lines. The majority of the courses for the full and half marathon will remain the same, but the Saturday races (10K, 5K, Kids 26th Mile, PigAbilities and Flying Fur) will feature new routes. Kroger Joins Flying Pig for 20th Anniversary

The Flying Pig Marathon powered by P&G is proud to welcome Kroger as a presenting sponsor of the 20th anniversary weekend, May 3-6, 2018. Kroger will add to the experience for all involved by providing food for the Saturday evening “Pig Out,” our traditional Pasta Party sponsored by Kroger and will also supply nutrition for the Kroger Recovery Area at the Finish Swine on Saturday & Sunday of Pig Weekend.

“We are excited and honored to be able to partner with such an iconic Cincinnati institution,” said Iris Simpson Bush, Flying Pig executive director. “Having Kroger’s support and involvement in it’s hometown marathon is a win-win for all.”

Custom Bib Deadline

Do you want our spectators to cheer you on by your name?! Customize your bib with your name or a short message and they can call you out! You have until 11:59 p.m. April 1st to register and personalize your race bib.

Already registered? You can request your bib personalization additions and/or edits through 4/1 at NOON by emailing registration@flyingpigmarathon.com.

Race Weekend Shirts Revealed

You’ve been training hard for months and now it’s time to start getting excited for Flying Pig Marathon weekend! Without further ado, here’s this year’s Flying Pig Marathon race shirt!

Flying Pig Marathon High School Scholarship

Attention high school cross county or track & field athletes within the Greater Cincinnati area- We’re looking for juniors and seniors who have a passion for running and also exemplify our mission of giving back to the community. Sound like you or someone you know? Then make sure they look into the Flying Pig Scholarship, sponsored by Skyline Chili and Fleet Feet Sports Cincinnati! Check out the list of requirements and the online application here. The deadline to apply is April 1st.

Senior Incremental Program

We’ve adapted our kids’ incremental marathon program to give seniors a chance to take part in the Flying Pig. Our program promotes active, healthier lifestyles for all. Senior groups can train at their own speed with modified workouts and end with a final walk and medal celebration at their site. We will work with retirement homes, senior centers and more to help your group customize a plan that works for your needs.

TQL Beer Series Kicks Off with Bockfest 5K

A sold out crowd of 2,500 participants kicked off the spring running season in Greater Cincinnati with the sixth annual Bockfest 5K, benefiting the Brewery Heritage Trail and the Over-the-Rhine Brewery District.

Winning the men’s division of the Bockfest 5K was Tommy Kauffmann in 16:06. Second was William Doering in 16:24 and third, T.J. Lentz in 17:18. On the women’s side, winning was Sofia Mimendi in 19:02. Second was Marie Wysong in 19:28 and third was Wendy Marshall in 19:23.

The Bockfest 5K is the first race in the TQL Beer Series, with the Little Kings Mile coming up in May and the Hudepohl 14K/7K in September.

The Bockfest 5K is part of Bockfest weekend, celebrating Cincinnati’s brewing history.

Toyota 20 Days on the Run

Celebrate 20 Years with the Toyota 20 Days on the Run

The Flying Pig Marathon is celebrating 20 years with the communities that have made this anniversary possible. On this, National Pig Day, the Flying Pig Marathon is excited to announce the Toyota 20 Days on the Run. The celebration will begin on Friday, April 13 with a celebrity torch relay that will follow the marathon route. It ends with an awards show at the Aronoff Center called the PIGGYs and a free concert by COIN at The Banks. In between there’s yoga, pub runs and Tunes and Blooms at the Cincinnati Zoo.

Something PIG is Coming!

Introducing the PIGGYs, an awards show to celebrate 20 years of the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon! Similar to the ESPYs produced by ESPN, the PIGGYs will be a fun-filled evening to look back at 20 years of the “Pig” and celebrate the future.

The P&G PIGGYs will be held Thursday, May 3 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Aronoff Center to honor participants, volunteers, sponsors, and our “Streakers” (87 runners who have done all 19 Flying Pig full marathons and are registered to run the 20th marathon).

The Show will be broadcast live on WLWT, Channel 5 from 7-8 p.m. Attire is sneaker formal.

Tickets to the event go on sale on Saturday, Feb. 17, 12 p.m. at www.cincinnatiarts.org/piggys. Cost per ticket is $25, $35 or $150 for a VIP experience.
