Karin Richardson

Largo, FL

“An avid runner of all distances since 2007, I haven’t let a congenital heart defect slow me down. When I’m not running, I have worked as a Paramedic Medical Supervisor for the last 20 years and most recently qualified as a SWAT medic.”

About Karin: Karin’s goal as a 2019 Pig Ambassador would be to spread the word about the amazing Pig series.  She loves the race because of the amount of crowd support and race crew support, which matches her supportive and caring personality. Karin didn’t start running until later in life and found it difficult when she did. She also faced a bump along her running journey when her cardiologist informed her that she had a genetic heart condition as well as extra pathways in the electrical conduction that would cause her heart to beat too fast. But that didn’t stop Karin from running as she plans to get back on the road to race in 2019. Follow and cheer on Karin during her running journey to get the medal in 2019!

Do you have a special race day ritual? I will listen to a few motivational clips that are saved on my iPod and have a pep talk with my husband and brother.

What is your favorite song to listen to while working out? I listen to a wide variety of music from hard rock, old school 80’s and rap, to BPM dance.
