Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon Enhances Charity Fundraising

Participants of the 3rd Annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon all have the opportunity to raise money for a charity via the "Charity Athlete" program. The program is designed to support nearly 30 local non-profit organizations and the community throughout Greater Cincinnati. Last year's Charity Athlete program supported only one main charitable organization but this year has expanded to help all Marathon designated charities.

The program is simple. Marathon participants who choose to raise money set a fundraising goal of at least $50.00 but typically higher. Following the May 6th marathon, the pledge monies are collected and turned into the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon by June 4, 2001. The participant chooses which of the designated charities he/she would like their raised funds to benefit. It's a win-win program for everyone and another way the Flying Pig Marathon strives to meet its mission of supporting charities and the community through a premier athletic event.
