Signed Giant 'Good Luck' Card to be Sent to Hollywood

Cincinnati, Ohio (February 9 , 2006) - The Flying Pig Marathon is wishing native son George Clooney best of luck in the upcoming Academy Awards on Sunday, March 5, while at the same time inviting Clooney to join the festivities of Marathon weekend, May 5-7, 2006.

A giant "Good Luck" card has been signed by staff, board members, sponsors, civic leaders and charities connected with the Marathon and will be sent to George's representatives in Los Angeles. In addition to wishing George good luck on Oscar® night, the "Pig" also is inviting him to return to Cincinnati to celebrate his Academy Awards victory during Marathon weekend, when he also will celebrate his birthday on May 6.

"What better way for George to share his Academy Award success than to return home to the Flying Pig Marathon?" said Iris Simpson-Bush, executive director. "Besides being one of our area's best ambassadors, George also has Max, a pot-bellied pig, as a pet!"

The Marathon also is sending to Clooney a packet of personal letters from childhood friends and community leaders asking him to come to Cincinnati for Marathon weekend, along with a satchel of "pig paraphernalia" so he will be appropriately dressed for the weekend.

"You can't be part of the 'Pig' without the right attire," said Simpson-Bush. "George certainly is one of the best-dressed actors in Hollywood, so we want to make sure he looks good during his visit."

Clooney has been nominated for "Best Actor in a Supporting Role" for Syriana, and his movie, "Good Night and Good Luck," has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography. Clooney himself has been nominated for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for his work on "Good Night and Good Luck."

The eighth annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon will be held Sunday, May 7 with the Flying Pig Marathon, Half Marathon presented by National City, the Ernst & Young 4-person relay and the Corporate Express Corporate Challenge Relay. Saturday, May 6 features the 10K, the 5K presented by girls!can and Flying Piglet Fun Run and Family Festival. Presenting sponsors are CoActive Marketing, Corporate Express, Ernst & Young, Old Spice High Endurance, Mercy Health Partners, National City and Paycor.
