FLYING PIG MARATHON PRESENTS 'CHARLOTTE'S WEB' PREVIEW
Wilbur and Friends Kick off Marathon Week on the Square
Cincinnati, Ohio (April 16, 2004) - A performance of musical selections from the E.B. White classic, "Charlotte's Web," featuring Wilbur, the kindhearted pig, will be the first event in a week's worth of public activities on Cincinnati's Fountain Square, leading up to the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, Sunday, May 2.
Noted Cincinnati singer-songwriter Tracy Walker will sing a number of songs from the Children's Theatre production of "Charlotte's Web" on Monday, April 26th, from noon until 1 p.m. Other 'pig' related activities that will be held on the Square that week include:
- Tuesday, April 27th Marathon sign-making booth, courtesy of WARM98
- Wednesday, April 28th Volunteer Day, courtesy of Grand Victoria Casino
- Thursday, April 29th Survivor's Lillian Morris leads a hog calling contest
- Friday, April 30th Performance by the Crossroads Choir, Evansville, In
Marathon merchandise will be available each day on the Square, along with registrations for the Marathon events.
Public performances of "Charlotte's Web" begin Friday, April 30th at the Taft Theatre. School performances begin Thursday, April 29th. Visit www.thechildrenstheatre.com for ticket information.
The 6th annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon will be run on Sunday, May 2, 2004, featuring the Corporate Express Corporate Relays, the Outback 2-person relay, the Ernst & Young 4-person relay and the Papa John's 10K. The Kahn's Flying Piglet Fun Run and Festival featuring the Pampers Diaper Dash will be held Saturday, May, 1, as will the new 5K Fun Run and Family Festival presented by girls!CAN.
