7th Annual Flying Pig Marathon

run amuck IN THIS MONTH'S EDITION OF 'THE SQUEAL' The Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon is proud to welcome special guests Dick Beardsley and Jeff Galloway to the Marathon weekend festivities. Dick Beardsley is a veteran world-class marathoner, perhaps known best for his famous "Duel in the Sun" battle at Boston in 1982 when he came in second to Alberto Salazar by only two seconds. But his life has been a story of triumph over tragedy. Overcoming a serious farming accident, two traffic crashes and painkiller addictions, Dick returned to running with a renewed purpose. His story is an inspiration to runners and non-runners alike.

Jeff Galloway is a former Olympic marathoner who has written several books on running and is a columnist for Runner's World magazine. He holds a series of running schools across the country and is the founder of the Galloway method of training for marathons, which has helped more than 150,000 runners and walkers reach their marathon goals.

You will be able to see these two famed marathoners at the Bob Roncker's Running Spot Health and Fitness Expo, Friday, April 29th and Saturday, April 30th at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center, Covington, Kentucky. Click here for the complete schedule of speakers.

The deadline to register on-line for the Flying Pig Marathon events is midnight on Wednesday, April 20th. After that, registration for the full marathon and relays will be available at the Bob Roncker's Running Spot Health and Fitness Expo. The half marathon is almost filled, so watch the website for updates on availability of half marathon registration. Registration for the Papa John's 10K, 5K presented by girls!CAN and Kahn's Piglet presented by the Cincinnati Enquirer and Fun Run and Family Fest is available the morning of their events, Saturday, April 30. THERE IS NO DAY-OF REGISTRATION FOR THE MARATHON, HALF MARATHON OR RELAYS.

Have fun at the Flying Pig Marathon with these open-to-the-public extras! The annual pasta party "Pig Out" has moved to Covington Landing, just a block north of the Northern Kentucky Convention Center on the water at the old Applebee's restaurant.
