Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon
The SQUEAL : April 2011
The latest and greatest news from the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon

It’s the Year of the Charity at the Flying Pig Marathon powered by P&G. And what better way to participate than to check out a couple of the charities that will be at the P&G Expo Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30? Here are two of the many charities and non-profits who will be part of the Pig:

The ‘Piggest’ Raffle Ever

The ‘Piggest’ Raffle Ever lets any charity get involved to raise money for its cause! The raffle will have two components, one with a “pig drop” for a car lease, and another for terrific prizes that coincide with winning bib numbers for Sunday’s marathon.

Charities will be selling raffle tickets throughout Pig weekend, and at the Pamp;&G Expo. Either way, our charities win! So make sure you check out the ‘Piggest’ Raffle Ever at the Expo!

Shoes for Guatemala

For the second straight year, the Flying Pig Marathon powered by P&G will collect donated shoes at the P&G Health and Fitness Expo for the “Shoes for Guatemala” cause.

Last year visitors to the expo donated more than 1,100 pairs of shoes toward the effort, which supplies shoes not just to Guatemala, but to organizations in the Greater Cincinnati area as well as other countries in need.

This is the fourth year that the group has collected and donated shoes to Guatemala and other needy areas. Along with collections at the P&G Expo, “Shoes for Guatemala” also has collected shoe donations at P&G facilities, a Canton, Ohio shoe business owner, Lakota Schools and Kings Schools.

Donations again will be accepted at the P&G Expo April 29 and 30 at the Duke Energy Center, downtown Cincinnati, in specially marked barrels placed around the expo for all types of shoes, including running shoes.
