The latest and greatest news from the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon
THE SQUEAL is the free e-mail newsletter of the
10th Annual Flying Pig Marathon

9 Days until Flying Pig Marathon Weekend!
Flying Pig Marathon Greetings!

Welcome to Day 18 of our daily e-mail blasts to help you prepare for the 10th annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon events.

The Flying Pig Marathon is a family and friends affair for lots of folks participating, including Jennifer Pinola from Long Island, New York: "This year is my second time doing the pig! I did the half marathon last year with my best friend Angie from college, and this year decided to go for a new goal and do the full marathon. Training has been hard and fun. I'm from Long Island, NY and she is from Ephrata, PA. The reason we travel to Cincinnati for the Flying Pig, is not only to participate in a fun race, but my sister and brother in law live there as well. Can't wait, looking forward to it!"

Pig Points

Don't forget, there are plenty of activities for the family on Saturday of Pig weekend! If the kids are coming with you for the Flying Pig festivities, they can sign up for fun run events, everything from the Pampers' Diaper Dash to the Kids' Fun Run! Activities on Saturday start at 8 a.m. with the Toyota 10K and you can sign up that morning.

"Downtown...everything's waiting for you!"

If you're coming into Cincinnati on Friday for Marathon weekend, wander downtown to Fountain Square around 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening. We'll promise you, it'll be worth it, because you'll actually have the chance to see Pigs fly! We want to keep the details quiet, but the celebration won't be! So head to Fountain Square, where Pigs will, indeed, fly on Friday evening!

The Greening 'o the Pig

We mentioned in an earlier Squeal that the water bottles you recycle at the Marathon events will be re-made into fleece garments that will be donated back to inner-city Cincinnati children. Recycled water and 2-liter bottles are used to make everything from hats to backpacks and blankets. Every recycled item helps the Pig go green!
