What's Your Sign?

We hope you have one for yourself, or a family member, along Sunday's Flying Pig routes. This year, for the first time, the Flying Pig is offering custom signage for your favorite participant-even if it's you! Just email information to media@flyingpigmarathon.com. We'll need to know the participant's first and last name, your contact information, the slogan you want and in which event your participant will be doing. Time's running out to get your Swine Sign, so make sure you contact us today.

Paycor Help a Charity, Run the Pig!

There is still time for you and three of your buddies to sign up for our Paycor Corporate Relay. The relay team designates a specific charity to receive its funds, or you can designate your team's donation to Flying Pig Charities. Do good for your company's favorite charity and have fun at the same time by signing up your team for the Paycor Corporate Relay.

The Pump N' Run Option... for all Ages and Genders!

Whether you are a novice weight lifter or a seasoned gym rat, the Pump N' Run option will give you a unique "full fitness experience" at the Flying PIG! When selecting this option, the participant gets weighed in, and bench presses a percentage of their weight as many times as possible, using a weight lifting formula based upon their age and gender. If you are running the 5K or 10K, you receive 30 seconds off their run time for each bench press competition, and if you are running the Half or Full Marathon, you receive 2 minutes per bench press repetition. There are individual personal achievement awards (10-Pump Club, 20-Pump Club and 30-Pump Club medals), as well as competitive awards (Fastest "Net Run Time" medals which is the actual run-time reduced by the pump handicap). The event is designed for people of all ages and gender... and has had women and men as young as 15 years all the way to 78 years old participate! Go to www.pumpandrunrace.com to learn more!

Be an 'Ultra' Marathoner

Have you signed up for the full marathon? New this year, full marathoners will have a beer ticket on their bib that can be redeemed for a cold Michelob Ultra to kick off the celebration at the Michelob Ultra Victory Party!

Celebrate your accomplishments with a Michelob Ultra!

Reds Logo Pig Night at the Ballpark is Back!

Pig Night at the Ballpark is Friday, May 9, where you can attend, wear your medal and parade around the warning track before the game! The Reds have set up a discount for all games in the series, as well as all games during Flying Pig Marathon weekend. For tickets, just go to: www.reds.com/flyingpig

Train with What's on Course!

Gatorade Endurance Formula (Lemon-Lime) is proud to be the official on-course sports drink of the Flying Pig Marathon, fueling you throughout your entire race.

It contains nearly two times the sodium (200mg) and more than three times the potassium (90mg) of Gatorade Thirst Quencher to help maintain hydration and proper fluid balance and help replace the critical electrolytes lost in sweat during these occasions.

To purchase for training, visit www.fuelbelt.com/GatoradeEndurance or a Sports Specialty store near you. For more information, visit www.gatorade.com/Endurance.

This week's FFAQ (Flying Pig Frequently Asked Question)

Q: I've already registered, but can I still switch races?

A: Participants may switch races. You must notify the Flying Pig office of your request with the Switching Request Form by April 11, 2014. After that date, switches may be done at packet pick-up at the Expo. There is a $10 fee to do so, along with any applicable entry fee difference. The fee increases to $15 at the Expo.

Metro Logo Metro puts extra pork in its day pass for Race Day!

Feeling piggish? Now there are two ways to use the special day Flying Pig Day Pass. Spectators can avoid detour headaches while watching the race up close and squealing for their runners and new this year, marathon participants can give their little piggies a rest and ride hassle-free to the starting line early Sunday morning on May 4.

Runners can park their cars free behind Tri-County Mall, conveniently located at the junction of I-275 and I-75, and catch the Early Morning Flying Pig Express. To return, runners can jump on the Rt. 78 Springdale - Vine and be dropped off at the bus stop at Kemper in front of the mall.

For only $4.50, the pass is available online at www.flyingpigmarathon.com.

Don't be left behind -- the Metro bus will leave Tri-County Mall at 5:15 a.m. Drop off near the start downtown. Reserve your spot today!

Why ride the bus? We say "Swine not?"
