For on-line registration, submit one entry per team and follow the directions on the registration website. The Relay Team packets will be distributed at the P&G Health & Fitness Expo and will contain all materials and supplies for each of the runners on the team. Only one member of the team may pick up the packets for the team, but all team members are advised to come help in the pick-up and distribution of team packets and premiums. Substituting Relay Team Member. If you need to substitute a participant on your relay team, have the substitute complete the Switching Relay Participant Request Form and bring to packet pick-up at the Expo. There is a $15 fee to make the substitution. At the Start Leg 1 runners start at the same time as the other marathon runners - 6:30 a.m. There is not a separate start for the Relay Teams. Leg 2, 3, and 4 relay runners will be bused to their respective exchange zone. They should report to the relay bus loading area on Eggleston and Butler, located 1.5 miles from the marathon start. Volunteers will direct these runners to the buses. Buses for the second runner will depart from 5:50 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. from the relay staging area Buses for the third runner will depart from 6:20 a.m. to 6:40 a.m. and buses for the fourth leg will depart from 7:00a.m. to 7:20 a.m. Completing Your Leg When relay runners have completed their leg of the race, they will be bused to the Finish Line area. All relay runners returning from the exchanges will be allowed in the Recovery Area of the Finish Line for food, beverages, medals, goodies, etc. Meet your teammates at the Relay Reunion Area in Yeatman’s Cove. Team photos may be taken here. See the relay baggage exchange instructions that let you control the retrieving of your gear. Please do not leave valuables. Relay runners need to keep up a 16:00 minute per mile pace or risk being caught by the sag wagon. Runners caught by the sag wagon have a choice of getting on and ending their race, or moving to the sidewalks. Relay Baggage Exchange Each runner will create 2 bags: one to take with them to their zone, with their pre-run gear, and another bag of post-run gear to get when they reach the zone at the end of their relay leg. Relay runners will have the previous runner’s clothes bag with them and hand it to the incoming runner. Sample scenarios: Relay Runner #1:
Cancellation Policy for the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon
Entry fees are non-refundable; race numbers and entries cannot be transferred to another year or person. No exceptions. This means once we have received your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate, or if the event is cancelled because of weather, natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstances.
