2020 Pig Works Event Update

It is with sadness and a heavy heart that the Board of Directors and staff of Pig Works have decided to cancel our remaining in-person 2020 events, including the Flying Pig Marathon and Queen Bee Half Marathon weekends and the Hudepohl 14K/7K Brewery Run.

We invite our participants to complete the events virtually, as your support is vital to the ongoing success of our non-profit organization. Registrants of each of the fall events will receive an email by July 10 detailing their options for participation, including a fun and engaging virtual experience, deferral to a future year or donating their registration fee.

Update from Iris Simpson Bush, President and CEO of Pig Works

The entire Pig Works staff, Board of Directors and I were saddened to learn this week that the 124th running of the Boston Marathon will be cancelled this year and will transition to a virtual event over concerns for participants’ health and safety. While we know this was a tough decision for race director Dave McGillivray and his team, we realize it was the right one as individual states and municipalities work to keep everyone safe.

As you know, our 2020 Flying Pig weekend was moved from the first weekend in May to Queen Bee weekend, October 9-11. As of now, we continue to plan for our dual events as we wait for further direction from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and city of Cincinnati officials on what health directives will be in place then.

We will continue to keep our participants, partners, volunteers and sponsors updated on our plans for the rest of the year, including the upcoming Hudepohl 14K/7K, part of the TQL Beer Series. We wish you all good health, safe training and all the best from the Flying Pig.
