Hyde Park

Course Tour

Hyde Park is Mile 10 – 11 of the full marathon course. The course undulates as runners and walkers continue their journey on Madison Road heading to Erie Avenue and Hyde Park Square. On the left side of the road in Hyde Park, the campus of Withrow High School provides a good viewing vantage. It looks like a small college campus with a big clock tower. Many of Cincinnati’s movers and shakers attended Withrow. The Rt. 24 Anderson – UC Metro public transportation bus will take spectators from downtown to Dana & Madison which is on the marathon route and a quick walk to Withrow and Madison Park. The tree-lined streets of Hyde Park are used by more runners than just about any other street in town and all enjoy the views of some of the nicest older homes in all of Cincinnati. When previous participants gave the Flying Pig high marks for crowd support, Hyde Park Square is the section to which they referred. In any kind of Pig weather, Hyde Park Square is always packed full of enthusiastic supporters. The energy is infectious!
