Charity Partners

Bringing home the bacon for charities and causes

Flying Pig Charity

Each year we work with over 300 charities and raise close to $1 million annually for our philanthropic partners. Over $18 million has been raised through the Flying Pig event over the past 26 years.

Every Pig Works event includes a charitable tie-back to partner organizations. To inquire about opportunities, please contact Pig Works Director of Charities Joel Barnhill at joel@flyingpigmarathon.com.

Information on individual race charitable components:

The Flying Pig Marathon Charity Program provides three (3) avenues for charities to utilize the Flying Pig events as a fundraiser – Charity Partner Team, Volunteering and Piggest Raffle Ever. Over the last 27 years, the Flying Piganthropy program has helped participating charities to collectively raise almost $19 million.

CHARITY PARTNER TEAMS

This is the traditional method of having participants “run/walk for the cause”.  Participants can use all of the Flying Pig weekend events to collect pledges, solicit sponsors, build teams and challenges, etc. 100% of funds raised by the participants go directly to the charity.

BENEFITS

  • 25% registration discount for your participant fundraisers at the time they register for their Flying Pig event.
  • Complimentary online team fundraising page through Race Roster which allows donations to come directly to your organization and allows for your fundraisers to connect directly to your team’s page. (Optional: You may use your own fundraising platform to collect donations)
  • Complimentary 10×10 booth space for both Saturday and Sunday at the Flying Pig Post Race Party. (Optional: Includes a festival booth, table, and 2 chairs)
  • Official Charity recognition on the Flying Pig website and use of the Flying Pig Marathon logo.
  • 50% discount on a 10×10 booth space at the Health and Fitness Expo. (Optional)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Register as a Charity Partner Team by March 1, 2026
  • Apply now using this form. (You may indicate whether you prefer to use a complimentary fundraising page or your own fundraising platform within the application.)
  • All registrants must provide proof of non-profit status (i.e. IRS letter or certificate of tax exemption) by emailing Joel Barnhill at joel@flyingpigmarathon.com
  • Provide a follow-up report by June 1, 2026, detailing how much the organization raised through the Flying Pig Marathon events.

VOLUNTEER LEVEL (GRUNTS)

The most popular level of raising funds for charity is by becoming one of the 250+ volunteer groups that comprise over 8000 volunteers needed to make the Pig run!  Volunteer groups representing charities provide the Marathon Weekend with much needed and critical operating assistance.  All facets of the event involve volunteers.  Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age, receive a collector t-shirt, and the groups will be assigned a job at which the entire charity group will work the same duty, same general location, same time.

In appreciation of the volunteers’ efforts, the Flying Pig will make a direct donation to the charity and will receive recognition on the Flying Pig website.

For information regarding the Volunteer Level, please visit our volunteer page.

RAFFLE LEVEL (PIGGEST RAFFLE EVER)

This level of charity participation is probably the easiest manner of involvement, but requires the charity to continually and consistently promote their participation in the Piggest Raffle Ever.  Launching in early December, Charities wishing to participate in the Piggest Raffle Ever must fill out and send in an application.  The Pig Staff will then post the charity’s name in a drop-down menu at the secure website https://piggestraffleever.com.  The charity must then promote the website and ask their constituents to go there and purchase raffle tickets on their behalf.  Raffle tickets cost $5 each and 100% of that money goes in the form of a donation back to the charity.  The person buying the raffle tickets and the charity they supported, has a chance to win some fabulous prizes!  Other options for selling tickets are also available.  Participating charities will also be recognized on the Flying Pig website.

Application must be completed by March 31, 2026

For more information or to apply for the Piggest Raffle Ever, please contact Joel Barnhill at joel@flyingpigmarathon.com

The Queen Bee Half Marathon offers two ways for local, charities to fundraise for their organization – Build the Beehive (Participant Fundraising) and Busy Bees (Volunteer) levels.

The two (2) levels of charity participation are briefly described here:

Build the Beehive Level (Participant Fundraising)

This is the traditional method of having participants run or walk for their cause by collecting pledges or soliciting sponsors. 100% of funds raised by the participants go directly to the charity. Interested charities may apply for this level by contacting Joel Barnhill at joel@flyingpigmarathon.com. If accepted into this level, the Queen Bee will provide some special incentives to help the charities “build their beehive.”

Busy Bees Level (Volunteer)

The most popular level of raising funds for charity is by becoming one of the volunteer groups that comprise the 1000 volunteers needed to make the Queen Bee buzz! Official charities and non-profit organizations are eligible to receive a donation in exchange for the services of their volunteers. For information regarding the Volunteer Level, please visit our volunteer page.

The Cincinnati Brewing Heritage Trail is the organization’s signature plan, highlighting the historic buildings that helped create Cincinnati’s rich brewing history.

The FCC3 will benefit the FC Cincinnati Foundation and Flying Pig Marathon charities. Both organizations are 501(c)(3) non-profits.

FC Cincinnati Foundation

FC CINCINNATI FOUNDATION

Flying Pig Marathon

FLYING PIG CHARITIES

The Flying Pig Marathon is a 501(c)(3) organization, who works with over 300 charities throughout the year to assist in fundraising efforts.  The Flying Pig Marathon Charity Program provides four (4) avenues for charities to utilize the Flying Pig events as a fundraiser. The vast majority of Flying Pig event volunteers are raising funds for their cause. Over the last 20 years, the Flying Piglanthropy program has helped participating charities to collectively raise over $16 million. Charitable contributions to Flying Pig Charities get dispersed amongst charity partners and redistributed into the community.
